TAMIU Outreach Ensemble: Music for the Underserved – Power of Music for Criminal Justice and Nonprofits
Recruiting Performance at Roma High School – "Harmony Across Borders" As part of Texas A&M International University's outreach initiatives, I collaborated with Dr. Fritz Gechter (piano) and Yu-Mei Huang (violin) to present "Harmony Across Borders" at Roma High School. This performance aimed to inspire students to pursue higher education in music by showcasing a diverse repertoire that bridges various musical traditions. During the event, I highlighted the university's vibrant musical community, including my role as the faculty advisor for the K-pop Organization at TAMIU. This organization fosters cultural exchange and provides students with opportunities to explore contemporary Korean music and dance. By mentioning this, I aimed to inform students about the diverse musical opportunities available at TAMIU, reflecting our commitment to embracing global musical trends and providing a platform for students to engage with various musical genres. The performance concluded with a Q&A session, where we discussed the university's music programs, ensemble participation, and the benefits of studying music at TAMIU. This event not only showcased our musical talents but also served as a bridge to connect with prospective students, encouraging them to consider TAMIU for their higher education in music.
